About Us:

Back 2 Basics Kids foundation, Inc. established April 2008, is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization located at 5240 Snapfinger Park Dr. Suite 125 in Decatur, Georgia. Our organization is governed by a board of directors comprised of community volunteers, educators and small business owners. Our mission is backed by a professional staff that includes former high school and college athletes, educators and health professionals.

Back 2 Basics Basketball has been active within the community since 2003; when program director John Miller III, organized a community 3-on-3 street basketball tournament in Greensboro, North Carolina. The local community responded greatly to the idea and our organization has been growing ever since. The summer of 2003 is also when executive director, Yusef Aziz, graduated from Seattle Pacific University and began his professional basketball career playing abroad in Frankfurt, Germany.

Program Description:

Our programs are primarily rooted in Atlanta, Georgia, but we are working closely with our board to expand to the state of North Carolina and Washington State. Our year round programs provide an educational, enjoyable and athletic experience for children ages 6 to 18. Our program teaches the possibilities within basketball as a sport and as a career. Each student will have a chance to acquire hands on experience as they learn techniques and attend basketball clinics and compete in team settings. By using basketball as a backdrop, we are able to keep our youth involved in constructive healthy activities.
